QAnon
QAnon, or Q, is an anonymous person or group of people who began posting at 4chan on October 28, 2017. Q may refer to "Q clearance," a US Department of Energy clearance level.
“Who is QAnon?” That’s the question many people around the United States and the world have been asking since late 2017, when QAnon’s first post appeared on 4chan. “Who is Q?” is another way people ask these questions (see QAnon FAQ).
The best way to learn about the identity of QAnon is to read QAnon posts for yourself, and make up your own mind. If you ask the mainstream media (MSM), you’re likely to hear little speculation as to who QAnon is, but you’ll see a wide variety of coverage dismissing Q as a “conspiracy theory.” This is misleading; Q’s not an idea at all.

Who is QAnon Really?
Here’s what we know about QAnon’s identity as of 2020. QAnon is one or more people who have posted anonymously under the moniker “Q” or “Q Clearance Patriot” at 4chan, 8chan and 8kun, which are imageboards. An imageboard is simply an Internet forum that focus on the posting and discussion of images, although in QAnon’s case, the discussion tends to have a lot of text compared to the amount of images.
The QAnon identity question may never be answered, but one thing is clear: the MSM would prefer not to ask the question at all! In fact, as of 2020, no MSM reporter has directly asked the President, any White House staff member or any other Trump administration official this simple question: “Who’s QAnon?”
Ask yourself: Why not?
Why Won't the Media Ask Who QAnon Is?
QAnon has explained why the MSM avoids asking who Q is: (see Q1644)
Think of every post made.
It would force us to prove everything stated to avoid looking crazy, correct?
What do they fear the most?
Public awakening.
If they ask.
They self destruct.
They know this is real.
See attacks.
What Does "Q Clearance" Mean?
“Q clearance” is a high level of security clearance in the Department of Energy (DOE), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and many United States government agencies. Someone who has Q clearance is authorized to see highly confidential information, including documents containing details about nuclear materials and weapons.
Where is QAnon?
If you look at this QAnon heatmap image, you’ll see the times of day Q posts most and least frequently. Notice anything?
QAnon posts very rarely between 2 am and 11 am EST, which suggests that Q is likely someone who is asleep or “off work” during that timeframe each day. So Q may be located in the continental United States most, if not all, of the time.
Is QAnon One Person or Many?
QAnon claims to be part of a team working with President Donald Trump, and has on several occasions appeared to post from multiple devices in the same forum thread (“bread”), but Q has never elaborated on whether one or more people actually write the “Q posts.”
Is Trump QAnon?
No. QAnon makes a distinction between themselves ("Q") and President Trump, whom they refer to as “Q+” – see Q2563, Q2565.
How Old is QAnon?
QAnon sometimes makes pop culture references to films from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, and to music from the last couple of decades.
Q has never posted a selfie (a photo of themselves), so we have no idea what Q’s skin color or ethnicity is. QAnon has been extremely emphatic in denouncing racism and is famous for the line, “Patriots have no skin color.” See Q1252, Q2386, Q3017, Q3018.
